Introduction
 
Hillview College is a Denominational Government Assisted Secondary School, situated on the foothills of the Northern Range at the top of El Dorado Road in the town of Tunapuna, in Trinidad and Tobago.Hillview College is a secondary
school or high school, as opposed to the American University or 'college'. It is of the "grammar" or academic type as distinct from the "technical" and " comprehensive" types. Hillview is recognised by the University of Cambridge Local Examinations Syndicate for the award of G.C.E. Ordinary and Advanced Level Certificates and by the Caribbean Examinations Council for the award of the C.X.C. General Level Certificate and is accredited and financially assisted by the Government of Trinidad and Tobago.
 
 
Mission Statement
 
Hillview College envisages an all round education which embraces the total Hillview College envisages an all round education which embraces the total development of the student so that they can function and contribute positively in a rapidly changing local and global environment. This mission in embodied in the College Motto -

Humani Nihil Alienum.

This is a Latin phrase which means,

'Nothing concerning humanity is alien to me.'


Expressed in a positive way it means,

'I am interested in every thing concerning mankind.'

It is also enshrined in the words of the College Song:

From these Hills inspired true
